About the Position

The Senior Associate role involves:

  • Project management: Advancing multiple stakeholders through our methodology while anticipating and being attentive / responsive to evolving conditions, complexities, and concerns.

  • Financial modeling and outcomes pricing: Using Excel and other tools to develop cost models and budgets required for project success, assignment of pricing for projected outcomes, and projections of impact, including anticipated effect sizes and associated cost savings.

  • Outcomes definition and measurement: Identifying, defining, and aligning with stakeholders on outcome measures that will drive impact, revenue, and financing; includes selection of the most appropriate data, methods, collection and assessment cadence, training, and documentation protocols required.

  • Landscape and feasibility assessment: Conducting desk-based and qualitative research to understand and ensure market / policy conditions and partner readiness for new program and financing opportunities.

  • Market, regulatory and compliance analysis / research: Especially for government-sponsored healthcare work, ensuring that expected program and revenue models, and anticipated financial transactions, are consistent and compliant with State and Federal rules and regulations, as well as applicable business and policy frameworks.

  • Outcomes-based contracting: Planning for, developing, and driving creation of innovative contractual relationships (including governing terms, reimbursement rates and structures, reporting, and contract structure) along the value-based care continuum between both traditional (e.g., payers, governments, and delivery systems) and non-traditional healthcare stakeholders.

Role and Responsibilities

QV Health Solutions seeks a Senior Associate to contribute to the growth and development of our company, with a primary focus on client service delivery. Responsibilities include:

  • Working on client delivery teams as a project manager or support, including responsibility for:

    • Managing day-to-day project activities and communications;

    • Conducting due diligence on candidate programs and partners;

    • Researching client issue areas, state policies / priorities, and key trends;

    • Drafting program model budgets and projecting revenue sources / gaps;

    • Building economic and financial models to price outcomes and predict future revenues, savings, and/or cash flows; and

    • Developing and drafting materials to facilitate investor / partner engagement.

  • Facilitating key aspects of the client delivery process for a portion of the client portfolio. This includes time and resource budgeting, timeline management, deliverable preparation, client and stakeholder management, and contract management.

  • Contributing to an inclusive and fun team culture that cultivates creative problem solving, intellectual curiosity, emotional intelligence, and impatience for positive change.

Senior Associate candidates must have:

  • At least 2 years of direct health plan, consulting, or healthcare industry experience in the areas of finance, economics, business management, strategy, or related field;

  • Experience translating complex data / information into actionable, understandable recommendations and guidance for leadership teams;

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, and an aptitude for critical thinking and complex problem solving;

  • Strong people and project management skills, with practice navigating complex issues and partner relationships;

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to quickly research, synthesize, and summarize critical findings on unfamiliar topics;

  • Broad understanding of value-based care, Medicare, and Medicaid;

  • Understanding of social and non-medical determinants of health;

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing projects, and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team;

  • Intermediate to advanced expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel;

  • Willingness and ability to express contrary views and seek consensus against other priorities such as time and budget constraints; and

  • An enthusiasm and sense of humor, curiosity, joy, and humility for this work.

A graduate degree is preferred but not essential.

Salary + Benefits‍ ‍

This position has a salary range of $95,000-$120,000 per year. Salary will be commensurate with experience, education, and applicability to the QVHS mission. Potential for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision) and a 401k retirement plan with generous company matching contributions. QVHS provides full-time staff with 11 paid holidays, 2 paid personal choice holidays, and 18 days of paid time off annually.
